2017 Wedding Planning Trends

You’ve heard that diamond wedding bands for him (yes, not just her!) are in and you are so going for it and now you want to make your entire wedding a trendy one to match. What better way to do so than know and incorporate these 2017 wedding planning trends to your own?

The Venue’s Look

Go for the classic look with a blush rose theme as it’s such a timeless choice that you’ll be happy with in years to come. You can also vamp the general look up by adding in some metallic like rose gold to complement the theme. Copper and pewter also work if you have other color themes in mind, for instance neutral colors like brown, blue-grey, or charcoal to keep things sophisticated.

Most weddings now stand out from others because of the unique choices of venue. Make sure to keep it classy and not at all tacky, but if you can’t book a venue that will knock your guests’ socks off, then get creative with lofts, rooftops, or a huge tent.

Floral Wedding Decorations

Soft petal flowers remain to be the wedding go-to, and for good reason. But you can spice up your centrepieces with tall trumpet vases, flowering plants, eclectic arrangements, and hanging floral centrepieces.

Invitations

The trends for invitations often go along with what’s in in the fashion world, and that means mixing up plains and prints to make your invitations pop. Calligraphy has also made a comeback and a lot of the latest wedding invitations have brides and grooms handcrafting their own to give a more personal feel.

Food

Customized menus that mean something to the couple are becoming hot this year, and give a new spin to the usual chicken, pork, beef, and vegetarian options. You can also include local specialties to your menu (great idea if you’re on a destination wedding). Trends remain consistent with the serving styles and you can opt for a food truck, finger food, or family servings per table instead of buffets.

Dessert (and Cake!)

Food is one thing, but the cake is another. Tiers are coming back, and sky-high wonders are the next big thing. Taller cakes mean more creative freedom for the decorations. Varied options are also in so you can make tiered cakes with different flavors on each level or just an assortment of different ones on the table.

Photography

Guests will surely remember innovative spins on the traditional photobooth and this can include animated GIF, slow mo, or flipbook effects. It’s also great if your guests can immediately get a copy of their photo to share online while you also get a copy of all the photos.

Short but sweet Instagram videos of cuts of the wedding day’s events are also in with wedding videographers right now. Plus, you can even use drones to capture interesting angles.

After-Party

Once the crowd pleaser songs are over, the challenge will be to keep everybody on the dance floor. You can achieve this by going for two different sounds throughout the party, a traditional live band and then a  DJ for a more ‘party’ kind of vibe. You can also set up the venue to reflect the party vibe that you are going for. Don’t forget to play the hit pop songs on top of the charts to get everybody grooving!
