Different methods to consider on how you could reduce back pain

Back pain is an issue that you will definitely have to deal with at least once in your lifetime. There are different reasons why you would end up feeling this strain in your back. For most people, the back ache will be caused by a certain strenuous activity like a serious workout or a hard house chore like gardening that will require you to bend your back. This irritation in your back could also be caused by sudden jolts of the back muscles, if you sit too much and if you always assume a poor posture. This is just to show that the spine is very prone to injury because it is subject to numerous strong forces. When you start experiencing discomfort in your back, a couple of anatomical causes could be the reason for your suffering. One is that the large nerves that go to your legs and arms could be irritated. These nerves that are connected to your spinal cord are very sensitive and if they have been irritated, you will start to experience some agony in your whole back. Secondly, the two large back muscles that support your spine can be strained, and this situation can especially result in soreness of the upper part of the back because this is where the muscles are situated. Lastly, there is a possibility that smaller nerves, compared to the ones that go to your legs and arms, in the discs of your spinal cord could also be under pressure. The following are ways on how you could ease back pain;

  1. Reduce your bed rest.

Sometimes the agony you are feeling in your back could be so intense that you want to have some bed rest. You are allowed to have some bed rest, but you should be aware of how long you want to stay lying on your bed. It can surprise you that one of the ways you can alleviate this pain is by not having a long rest, but still keeping active even though the activities are in low intensity. Keeping your muscles moving will reduce back pain in the long-run. Having more than three days of bed rest is very dangerous for you.

  1. Enhance your flexibility.

A major benefit of being fit is that you will be flexible; this is being able to put an equal load throughout the body, from your feet all the way to your head. If there is a lot of tension and tightness in your joints, it will cause back pain. There are a couple of exercises that can help you achieve flexibility. One main one is to sit at the edge of the bed with one leg extended and the other one flat on the floor. Stretch your hamstrings by leaning forward; making sure your back is in a neutral position.
